Saying Goodby to Nathan

We had a nice morning with a nearly 3 mile walk around the neighborhood.  I really struggle on the hills.

Then we took off to get Nathan to Bellingham to catch the ferry to Juneau.  First stop lunch
Busara's was very good Thai food.  No pictures.  I was hungry.

Then we went to Lake Padden to walk around.  Another 3 mile walk.  Very pretty location.

We drove into Bellingham to the ferry.  Nathan was told that the boarding would start about 3 pm and once his car was on the ferry then he could leave.  Just needed to be back on board by 5:30 pm.

We decided to find a place to sit and have a glass of wine, to wait for him.
Not here.
but here

We found the Skylark Restaurant had an outdoor seating area.  Perfect weather to just sit out and relax.

Finally heard from Nathan that nothing was moving so we wandered back to visit with him for a little while.

We could not tell if he ever was going to move, though he now was at the front of the line.  It was 5:30 pm so we decided to leave him and go for dinner.
They have a lot of wines on tap

I had a very good veggie burger and a glass of Rioja (to prepare for Spain).  Then we headed home.  A long but relaxing day.
Nathan's sleeping arrangement.  He is camped out here for 3 days.  At least no one will step on him.  He texted when the ferry headed out, so he is on his way.
