a few things

This is a funky quirky hotel.  Each one we have stayed at has had its oddities but this one has a little more personality.  We did not realize how small Porto was.  Only one restaurant open around here and this is about the only hotel open.  The owner of the hotel works from 8 am to 8 pm.  He laughed when Nathan made a comment about being vegetarian on Corsica.  We are the only people at this hotel.  When I asked something about coffee in the morning sometime before 8 am, he found a small water heater.  I told him I had some instant coffee packets.

I have generally not been sleeping well, though the beds have all been comfortable.  It is this different bed each night thing.

I had known that we would be doing a lot of walking for scenery, but I guess I had not realized how much up and down it would be.  On the map, all the towns looked flat except for those stairs in Bonifacio.  But that has not been true.  I guess Ajaccio was flat around the hotel.  Ajaccio is the only place I would call a city, the rest have been towns or villages.

Everywhere the wifi has been great.

We have been enjoying the Corsican red wines.  I guess that they do not export their wines much.  We read somewhere that the rest of France have constantly changed and improved techniques whereas the Coriscan continue to do things the way they always have done them before and so the wines are immature and unsophisticated.  Not that I can tell.

The roads have mostly been good but they are very narrow and curvy.  Many places it is narrow enough that I am glad we were not passing anyone.

Did I mention that people smoke everywhere, stores and restaurants.
