Rain, Rain, Rain! I wish I could send some of this back to Oregon. Jeanne and I were going to go on a longer walk this morning but with the rain, we canceled that idea. I did not bring all my rain gear. So after breakfast we headed in to DQ for coffee time with the church group. They meet every morning at 10 am. After that we had a bunch of quick errands to do. I am glad that I brought my jacket.
One of the stops was to buy more coffee for the house. We went to the Log Cabin Coffee shop. The interesting thing about this place is that this little log cabin was built by a woman. She did most of the work herself. It is a cute tiny house. It is the first and only drive though coffee place in Ely. It took her about 3 years to build. Everyone was wondering if she would be able to make a go of it. Apparently it has been very successful and she is open year round. She has had to hire some worker bees to help out. Jeanne and Jay buy their coffee there.
Home for lunch. We both had some odds and ends to work on, while we waited for the rain to stop or at least slow down.
Jeanne and I went to dink around some shops.

A little sidewalk shop. You can sit in the rocking chairs and enjoy the ambiance.
This picture does not really show all of the rocking chairs
This is across the street and sells the chairs.
Then we came home and relaxed until dinner time.
Yummy steak, baked sweet potatoes and salad.
We watched a movie.
To answer a previous question: People enter the house through the garage. You can see the lower door from my picture of the front of the house. Then they go up the same number of stairs as you can see from the outside. Yes, there are a lot of stairs. In fact, during the winter when they can't go outside, Jeanne goes up and down the stairs for exercise. Bringing in groceries is a job!! But they are used to it. Jeanne and Jay have their bedroom, office, family room on the first level. The kitchen, living room are on the upper level. Jay's parents used to live on the upper level. Jay's brother Don & his wife have converted the parents space to be their space. There are a bunch of other rooms for guests. I think that 21 is the most that they have had staying here. 'Course some of those have slept on couches, inflatable mattresses or Pak and Play. It is a large house. It was built with the idea of being large enough for the whole family to be home for Christmas. It is more challenging now with the next generation getting married and having kids. Jeanne & Jay's kids: Laura and Ben are the oldest of that generation and they bring 6 kids between them. I am not sure that this house could handle EVERYONE now.
