Tuesday

I woke up to the actual full moon

After our morning coffee and breakfast, we went down to the bay to see if the boat needed to be bailed again because of the rain yesterday.  There was only an inch or so of rain in the boat so it did not take long.
Jeanne's bay is off of the Kawishiwi River.  No name.

Jeanne has been having a problem with their freezer.  It is filling up with water in the bottom.  So we took every thing out and put it in the freezer in the basement.  30 stair steps ... 8 times!!

Jeanne had turned it off and left it open.  By then it was lunch time.  After lunch we headed into town to do some errands. We stopped by Eddie's place to give him some banana bread. We checked the rain guage before we left.
2 inches of rain over the past week.

Ma, see what I caught!

We parked at the Veteran's memorial

Then walked the Trezona trail.  It was connected with the Mesabi Trail.

It is a 4 mile loop but we only did a part of it.

Miner's Lake.  Man-made lake from the Chandler iron mine.

Can't have a day without deer

Old Miner's Dry, which has been renovated to be an event center. A "dry" is where the miners would change out of their wet mining clothes.

Ahhh! All the chairs and tables were made by the local high-school students.

When we came home the ice at the bottom of the freezer had melted enough that we could get the bottom shelf out and we could remove chunks of ice.  About a dozen towels later and it was all cleaned and dried.  We started bringing a few things to put back in.  That will be Jeanne's job later.

Jeanne made banana bread.  She makes a lot of banana bread.

She made a delicious broccoli cheddar quiche for dinner. Yummy.

After dinner our movie choice was "It's Complicated".  We had not seen it before.  Neither of us were impressed.
Notice the photo theme - moon and deer.
