Summer Beach Weekend - Friday

On Friday at 10:30 am, Barbara S, Kris, Olivia and I met at Sharon's, to head out to the beach. Judy, was going to join us but her ex-husband just died the previous week and her 2 daughters were arriving this weekend to take care of things. We did our ABC wine tour.  We started at Arcane Winery down in the north Salem area.

A very protective dog.  Once we got in to start tasting he stopped barking.

complimentary cheese & crackers

After tasting we sat and had our brown bag lunches.

Then we bought some wine to take with us.

Next stop, Bethel Heights.

beautiful place

Funny artwork in the bathrooms.  They hung up pieces of equipment and then hung a frame around each.

This was very expensive wine so we did not buy much. Sure tasty though.

Cubanisimo winery was our final stop.  I like their motto - Pride, Passion and Pinot.

the owner was from Cuba and so the Cuban theme.  It was a fun place

It was a gorgeous day.  It was quite warm but we mostly stayed in the shade.  It all changed when we got to the beach.  It was no longer hot.  Unfortunately, I did not pack for it being cooler.  Sharon tossed in a jacket for me to use if needed.  I think that I may need it.

Not much of a beach view, even though the name of this house is A Beach View.

This is a very comfortable house for the 5 of us, though when we first got here there were several problems that we had to call Meredith Lodging  about.  The refrigerator was leaking water, which was the biggest problem.  They sent someone over right away to fix it.

Sharon and Kris made us a very delicious Peruvian dinner with chicken, french fries and steamed vegetables with several Peruvian sauces.

Kris got my computer set up so that Sharon could show her pictures from Peru.  This was a challenge because the instructions were not available, but Kris figured it out.  That was a treat to see the picture.  Sharon sure had some great pictures.  I almost feel like I have been there.

  1. Jim said the name of that rental property is rather deceptive, which I agree with. However, other than that small detail, it looks like a very nice house! And you all look like you are having fun :)
