The party's over

I went on a morning walk to catch some sunrise pictures

I got pretty close to the deer.  There were 2 little fawns who were very playful.

We had breakfast together, Paul was trying to use up his eggs and bacon.
Paul and Emmy are trying to finish up the maple syrup.

Then we started the cleaning up process.  Since we were driving we got all of the left-overs.  Whee.  We took Emmy to the ferry.  She was going on to visit family.  Paul Z and Janet took Ted and Janet Scudder and Paul H. took Keith and Elaine to SeaTac.

Our drive south was pretty uneventful.  We stopped at a McMenamins in Kalama for lunch.

We got home a little after 2 pm.  George took the car in for a new set of tires.

I hope that everyone arrived safely, where they were intending to arrive.

Special thanks: David for meal planning & shopping.  Also for driving the van around.
Paul Z for taking care of all the final bill settling and for renting a room for us to do our slide shows and for doing the slide shows.
All the chefs, Alla for making all the rice each night.  Don & Paul Z for providing hearty breakfasts for us all, especially Don's pancakes.
Verle for making chapatis and puris and  for provide our Sunday morning meditation,
Elaine for organizing the carpooling.
Mike & David for providing the music for our sing along.
Keith for bringing all those mangos from Florida
Barbara for arranging the location and handling the registration.
Thank you everyone for making it such a special time.  Everyone pitched in and helped.
Thank you for people who brought pictures to share.
I am sorry if I have missed anyone.

We had a fabulous time.  We missed the people who had signed up but at the last minute had to back out.  Margie, Rebecca and Jon.  Rebecca, we took a vote and it was unanimous.  You get to plan the India trip in 2020.  ;-)

Port Townsend

We all fended for ourselves for breakfast.

Then we met at 9 am to make our day plan.  Some people went out to the Dungeness Spit to explore.  Some of us went in to Port Townsend for a relaxing morning.  George was chauffeur since we only had one vehicle and more people than would fit in our vehicle.  Emmy, Elaine and I wandered around and poked into shops and looked for a likely place for lunch. Ted & Janet went to Safeway.

Aren't they twins.

We found a place, the Owl Sprit.

We got tables while George went to get the other half of the group.  Ted & Janet joined us. We were cracking up because we thought that they misspelled spirit.  The joke was on us. "sprit: small pole or spar crossing a fore-and-aft sail diagonally from the mast to the upper after most corner, serving to extend the sail."  It wasn't a typo.  We had a nice lunch.
The horse and bench were made from driftwood.

Mt Baker

When we got back I headed off to the business office to settle the bill and make sure that everything was correct.  It was a little frustrating but I am sure that it will all get worked out.
Dinner was left-overs from the previous 2 meals.  We had quite the feast.  There were 13 of us left.  We ate inside because all of our nice chairs left with David.

We pretty much ate it all.

We chatted for a while but then it was time to clean up and get things back in order.  We had to figure out which pan went to which house.  George and I brought all the left-overs home.  Not sure what  we will do with them all.  But we will enjoy them.

Hurricane Ridge

Verle made chapatis, Don made hash browns and scrambled eggs and Paul Z made bacon and sausage.  Another yummy meal.

Then some of us went on a walk.
Emmy, George, Elaine, Cheryl

gorgeous view

Where are we and how do we get back??

We got back in time to get to the Commons for Verle's devotions.  He had some interesting comments.  Elaine sang a closing song, which was very nice.

Then we piled into the van and 2 cars to go to Hurricane Ridge.  It was about 2 hours away.
packed in like sardines.

first stop, lunch.  We were hungry by the time we got to Hurricane Ridge.  After lunch we walked a trail.

Gorgeous weather, perfect day.
We gathered about 2:30 pm to head home.  We had to stop for gas.

Graham makes a great window washer.

To keep David awake in the van we did some singing.

We drove home in time to start making dinner.  We had another feast on the table by 7 pm.  Meatball curry, eggplant curry, egg curry (which our house made - I pealed the eggs.), bean and coconut dish, rusam, poppadoms, chicken kabobs, chicken biryani, mango slices and mango pudding for dessert.

More songs, slides and announcements
one might think that I was drunk with this picture of the beautiful moon.  Not the case, but I could not hold the camera steady.  It was a gorgeous moon.  No coyotes tonight.
Karen got a better picture of Venus & the moon.

Many people will be leaving tomorrow so we started our good-byes.
