Monday and Home

We had a nice breakfast and were ready to leave the hotel at 8 am to head home.  Pam agreed to take us to the airport.  That was nice.    We got to the airport in plenty of time.  I had TSA precheck but Debbie didn't  We both went to our separate lines but they both fed to the same scanner so she ended out being 2 people behind me.  We had looked up what food options were at the Hollywood Burbank Airport since we would be buying our lunch there.  We thought we could get a sandwich at Sammish and there was a Starbucks, so we thought we would be ok.

Not quite what we were expecting.  

Our flight left on time at 11:13 am.  The flight was pretty uneventful.  George met us when we got to Portland.  We were home around 2 pm.  

 

Sunday

 We had a nice breakfast at the hotel.  Pam and Jamie picked us up at 9:15 am to go to the arboretum.

There is snow on 'them there' hills.  

It was fun walking.  We did a big loop.  It ended out being about 3 miles.

We went to Porto's for lunch.  By then it was raining.  No photos of our food this time. I had cauliflower broccoli soup.  By the time lunch was over it had stopped raining.  We had a 1 pm reservation at an indoor pickleball court.  This time we kept score.  It is a very confusing scoring system. 

It was a nice place and well organized.  We ended playing 3 games in our 1 hour.  I don't think that I improved much.  But we had fun.

We headed back to Jamie and Pam's place.  We had time to relax. We started a game of 10, 9, 8 but didn't finish.  We headed over to Sharon and Michael's place for dinner about 4:30 pm.  Pam placed an order at Cardamom Montrose Indian cuisine for a 5:15 pm pick-up.

Sharon got the food all organized.  It was delicious.   

We played a game of 10, 9, 8 while Ella and Nicole did their pre bedtime activities. Sharon joined us.   

Pam and Jamie dropped us off at the hotel.  We needed to get organized for returning home tomorrow.

Jamie and Pam picked us up from the hotel at 8:45 am and we drove to the Descanso Gardens.  Sharon met us there with Ella and Nicole.

Then it was time for lunch so we headed to Toasted.  Debbie and I split a sandwich.  

Debbie, Jamie, Pam and I headed off to find a pickleball court.

Pam was trying to get us to play by the rules.  

We went to Barnes and Noble to have a treat, then on to Jamie and Pam's place.  They had a tree removed and they are in the process of having some landscaping done.

We went to pick up Sharon so she could have a little break and she joined us for dinner.

I had salmon, mashed potatoes and green beans.  It was quite tasty.

They sell a Willamette Valley wine.  But Debbie and I each had a Paso Robles wine since that was where our train got delayed.

After dropping off Sharon, we were heading to Jamie & Pam's place.  We couldn't turn on their street because it was full of cops, fire trucks, and first responders. We had to park down the street.  We were curious so we walked down to see what had happened. Apparently a car flipped over.  It was only going about 10 miles per hours.  The driver was trapped.  She had gone over a curb and hit a tree and flipped over.  I have a hard time visualizing how that would happen.  They had to cut open the vehicle to get her out and when they had, she walked away.  Well I think that they took her to the hospital to be checked out.

After that excitement we went to play 10, 9, 8. Jamie won, as usual. 

What a day!!
