Sunday, July 20

Jeanne and I had our usual morning walk after breakfast. Sharon got the call that her new grandson was on the way but it was not happening all that quickly.  So she had time to get ready, have breakfast and pack.  We headed out about 11:30 am.

We stopped for lunch in McMinnville at La Rambla for Spanish tapas.  Yummy

After lunch Sharon wanted to get going.  Jeanne and I hung around McMinnville a little longer.  We went to go to Honest Chocolate but they were closed so we decided to drive back and hit Moostruck Chocolate in Beaverton.  That was the perfect end to a great weekend.
At home after a nice fish kabob dinner George made we went to see How to Train your Dragon 2.  That was fun.

Going to the beach

Jeanne is in town.  Every year I have gone on a summer beach weekend and I have talked about it with Jeanne so this year we scheduled a beach weekend so that she could come.  This makes it extra special for me.
Kris helped to design the heating and cooling system of the Chehelm Cultural Center.  Also they have different artist displaying their work.  It was fun to see.  A nice way to start our weekend.

Now we are ready to head out.
Wine comes next.

What a life!

Stoller Vineyard is always a favorite.

Lunch at the Bistro Maison.  French food and it was delicious.

We started with a cold chestnut soup, beet salad, crab quiche and then coq au vin.  We ended with a panna cotta and pecan pie. Of course we had wine.

The house.  We are ocean view but not beach access

Time for dinner.  Fruit salad and delicious broccoli cheddar soup that Sharon made.

Gorgeous sunset

Getting set up to watch our Venice, Florence and Rome DVD.

We ended the day with cheesecake and limoncellos.

Monday, July 14

Nathan arrived 9pm or so last night.
Waiting in the lobby so that we could go for our morning Starbucks run

Cousins having fun.  Linda had to leave right after coffee to go to the airport to go back to DC.

We went to Nintendo to meet up with Sharon for lunch.  Nathan had not had much of a visit with her last night

very yummy buffet Jim and Pam headed north.  They were going on to Whistler

After lunch we went over to Patty's apartment.  She had an interesting AC system.  Ice cubes in front of a fan.

We had cake and ice cream  (I did not - I was still full from lunch)
Then we went to the Theo Chocolate Factory for a tour.  We had a lot of samples.  That was fun

Then we went to dinner close to the hotel. Dim Sum.  Wow was that fabulous.  We met up with Nathan's long time friend, Nathan Leamy.

I got my Nobilo Icon.  That was good.

carrying around the dim sum baskets.  We had a nice variety of dishes.  Patty joined us as well.

Molly Moo's was right next door so everyone had to have ice cream.
After ice cream we went back to the hotel and played Cranium.  That was fun.  "boys" against the "girls".  Very close game.  Then George drove Patty and Rebecca back to Patty's and Nathan L went home on his bike.
A very fun full day.
