2021

Wet winter but mild.  Rain, rain, rain.  I guess it is a good thing after the drought last year.

Inauguration!  1/20/2021  through 1/29/2021 palindromes.  I thought it was a fabulous inauguration ceremony, so positive and calming.

The vaccine is very slow in Oregon.  It keeps being postponed for various groups.

My age group was to be available to try to schedule on Feb 22nd for the first vaccine.  On the 21st I got a text from Kathy Christensen with a link through Sign-Up Genius for that Thursday.  In less than a minute I had an appointment.  I forwarded the link to a few other people.  Whew!! So lucky.  Especially when I heard all the horror stories of other people trying  to make appointments.

I drove to Woodburn High school for my first vaccine.  I left the house at 8:30 am Thursday, Feb 25th.  That gave me time to stop for a restroom break and for coffee.  I was thinking that I might have a long wait.  But this line moved quickly.  It was very well organized with about 4 different lines.  A lot of people working.  I had all the right paper work.  In less than 10 minutes I was at the front of the line by 9:30 am which was my appointment  time.  I had my Moderna vaccine and then went to another line to wait my 15 minutes.  The instructions were that if I had a headache, felt dizzy or heart problem to honk my horn until someone came.  By the time 15 minutes were up, I was at the front of the line and was free to go. I was home by 10:30.  Woodburn is about 35-40 min drive away. So most of the time was spent driving.  They will contact me in about a month for the 2nd vaccine.
