Lincoln City - Friday, August 19th

There were 4 of us going to the beach this summer. Some of the people who normally go couldn't go for a variety of reasons. It was disappointing and we missed the people who could not got but we made a valiant effort to still have fun.

George drove me to Kris'. Then Olivia arrived. We packed up Kris' vehicle and drove to pick up Barbara S. We got to her place around 10:30 am.

First stop was the Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg. It has been many years since we stopped here and it has changed somewhat.

It was fun looking at all of the art.

It was a nice community playground.

Then we drove on to McMinnville for lunch at the 1882 Grille.

Kris and I split a BLT with sweet potato fries, Barbara and Olivia split a salmon club.

We had been told that instead of a 4 pm check in time we could not check in until 6:30 pm. One of the housekeepers had tested positive which had thrown them off schedule. So we decided to wander around McMinnville more than we usually do. We went in a great art gallery. Many of the artists have shown in our Celebration of Creativity.

A great fabric store that Joyce goes to with some great quilts.

A lot of paintings on the sidewalks. We did not go see this art gallery but I love this artist.

We then stopped for ice cream at Serendipity. I had the Espresso Explosion.

Then I got a call from the Oregon Beach Vacation house rental people saying that they were quicker with the house cleaning so our house would be ready for the 4 pm check in. Great!! So we got back in the car and headed out to the beach.
