Saturday in Lincoln City

Kris drove us all to Depoe Bay.

Depoe Bay Memorial Wall by Whale Park. It honors those lost at sea.

We poked into some shops and I watched the waves.

The boats were all out watching the whales.

I might have seen a whale splash.

On the way back we stopped at a Specialty Farmers Market and Artisan Faire in Salishan, OR.

Pawcones made from knobcones, the most dense pine cone.

None of us bought anything.

Next stop was Mossy Creek Pottery.  Sharon was looking for some bowls.

We went back to the house.  After a short rest, Barbara S drove Sharon to the outlet mall and dropped me off at beach access point on their way.

I think that these are jellyfish remains

They picked me up on their way back to the house.  It was very windy at the beach.

We had a 5:30 pm reservation at the Side Door Cafe.  Just as we were leaving to go to the restaurant, Olivia hurt her knee going down the stairs.  She was in a lot of pain, so Kris took her to the emergency room.  They spent the evening there.  So there were only 3 of us at dinner.

I had a delicious wild salmon dish.

My fortune cookie message was "Be prepared to modify your plan!" How appropriate.

Gorgeous sunset.

Sharon figured out how to get a jazz station on the TV.  So we had some nice background music.

We had ordered some food to go for Kris and Olivia.  It was after 9 pm when they made it back to the house to have their dinner.  What a day.  Olivia was still in a lot of pain.  They had given her a walker and a knee brace.

Lincoln City Here We Come

Barbara S picked me up at 10:15 am to go to Sharon's.  We were meeting Kris there at 10:30 am.  Kris and Barbara S were the drivers.  Sharon went with Kris and I was with Barbara S. We drove first to Cannon Beach to pick up Olivia.  She had just moved to Cannon Beach. Judy was supposed to join us but she had fallen and broken her arm and had a total shoulder replacement surgery on Monday.  She wasn't quite up to joining us.

Hazy

We got to Cannon Beach around noon and had a tour of Olivia and Mark's apartment

Olivia & Mark's place above an art gallery.

View from their window.

We had a chance to walk through the House of Orange art gallery. We saw some very impressive art.  Some of the artists have been in our Celebration of Creativity at Southminster.

Then we went up to see Olivia and Mark's apartment.  They are still in the midst of moving so there were boxes everywhere.

We went to the Wayfarer for lunch.  It was only a few blocks away.

I had a limoncello Hugo Spritz.  Ahhh. Very refreshing.

Barbara S and I shared this sandwich and we each had a cup of the Tuscan soup.

Olivia and Sharon each had the prawn quinoa salad and Kris had the chowder and wedge salad.

Then we continued our journey.  Olivia rode with Sharon and Kris.

The ocean

We stopped at Tillamook for some ice cream.

This "new" building visitor center was built in 2018.  I guess it has been a while since I was last here.

We got to Lincoln City around 5:00 pm.

Our place The Cozy Pelican

Settling in.  This is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom place.

Nice chairs on the porch.  We all sat around with our beverages of choice before thinking about dinner.
My beverage of choice.

Our ocean view.

Sharon and Kris planned a very nice dinner of Kevin's Hawaiian chicken, broccoli, rice, fruit salad, and rolls.

Not much of a sunset but I wonder if the dark cloud is coming in or going away.
