We had a light breakfast at the hotel,  Most things did not open until 10 am so we had a leisurely morning. Then we drove into Fairbanks and explored downtown.  Once there we found that many places did not open until 11 am or noon..

They had these painted "tusks" all over town.

 I was quite cold.  The hotel was warm and yesterday had hit 46 I sort of thought that it would be the same.  But 26 is a little different. So we went back to the hotel so that I could get another layer on before we headed out again.  We went to where Open North American Championship Sled Dog Race was to start from.

They had a fur auctioneer there.  Selling all kinds of furs.  Quite the business up here..  .Wandered around a bit before we headed out to find a location to watch the dog sled racers go by.  That was fun.
