Sunday

We had a nice breakfast at the hotel.  Pam and Jamie picked us up at 9:15 am to go to the arboretum.

There is snow on 'them there' hills.

It was fun walking.  We did a big loop.  It ended out being about 3 miles.

A penny a kumquat??

Still some roses in the rose garden

Lots of peacocks.

On our way to lunch we drove by an area that was hit by the fire. What devastation!!

We went to Porto's for lunch.  By then it was raining.  No photos of our food this time. I had cauliflower broccoli soup.  By the time lunch was over it had stopped raining.  We had a 1 pm reservation at an indoor pickleball court.  This time we kept score.  It is a very confusing scoring system.

It was a nice place and well organized.  We ended playing 3 games in our 1 hour.  I don't think that I improved much.  But we had fun.

We headed back to Jamie and Pam's place.  We had time to relax. We started a game of 10, 9, 8 but didn't finish.  We headed over to Sharon and Michael's place for dinner about 4:30 pm.  Pam placed an order at Cardamom Montrose Indian cuisine for a 5:15 pm pick-up.
Michael helping Ella with a fun magnet construction toy.

They made a helicopter.

Pam helping Nicole with a different magnet toy.

Jamie, Debbie, and I went to go pick up the food.

Nicole

Sharon got the food all organized.  It was delicious.

We played a game of 10, 9, 8 while Ella and Nicole did their pre bedtime activities. Sharon joined us.

Pam and Jamie dropped us off at the hotel.  We needed to get organized for returning home tomorrow.

  1. Pam picked an impressive pickleball amphitheater. Comfy easy chairs for the spectators. I'm surprised you don't have to worry about balls accidentally going into someone else's court.
I hope your flight goes well on Monday.

  3. Nice arboretum - and pickleball with the actual rules. (Will be curious to hear them - didn't realize they'd be complicated). Sad to see just a small part of the the wildfire damage and then realize how widespread it is. Ella & Nicole are SO cute! Magnets that you can make a helicopter with - am impressed. Hope you're return trip goes smoothly.
