Saturday

Yesterday, Jay had a bad day.  He went down by the boat house and he was walking on the cement in the water, not realizing that it was covered in algae.  He slipped and fell into the lake and then because it was so slippery he had a hard time climbing out.  He scrapped his arm and leg and sprained his wrist.  In the process of getting drenched his phone also got drenched.  So it was no longer working.  They have a fancy platform that goes in the dryer.  So they put the phone in the dryer for a day.  Miracle of miracles his phone is working this morning.  He is sore today.

Salisbury for dinner

MJ, Jeanne and I went into Salisbury to check out some of the shops.  Jay and Mike drove to Charlotte to meet Marcki's flight.  It took her 2 days to get here from Las Vegas.  

We ended out at el Patron for dinner.  2 other friends joined us for dinner.

The margaritas were delicious.

They made the guacamole at the table.

You can't tell but it is POURING.  We blinked and it came through.  But it is gone now.  I think we are going to head into Salisbury for the Salisbury Night Out.  Shops stay open late.  We will check it out.

It was so relaxing this morning.  Drinking my coffee out on the screened in porch.  Watching the sunrise.  What a life.  

Salisbury, NC Thursday May 8

We had to leave the house at 4:30 am to get to my flight.  George dropped me off.  I flew to Chicago where I met Jeanne and Jay.  We had a delicious lunch at Chili's in the Chicago airport.  Sandwich, fries and margarita!!  Jeanne and I split the sandwich/and fries (not the margarita) . Then we caught our flight to Charlotte NC.  We will be staying with Mike and Mary Jane (MJ).  They are long time friends of Jeanne and Jay.  Mike is a golf buddy of Jay.  They are very hospitable and made me feel right at home.  We had take-out Olive Garden dinner.

What a gorgeous place Mike and MJ have.  It is lake front property.  They have been working on the house for years, constantly improving it.  I am in awe.  I will send pictures tomorrow.  This is just to let you know that we did arrive and the flight went fine.  the one other person arriving is Marcki and she has had one problem after the other due to storms.  She was supposed to arrive soon after we did but then things changed - now it looks like she will spend the night in Dallas and will not arrive until 5 pm tomorrow.

Jay's parents - Ruby is in the hospital in Ely, in acute care with pneumonia and some heart difficulties.  The doctors felt that there really was no reason for Jeanne and Jay to hang around.  She just needs to gain strength.  Walt went went them as far as Chicago.  He is staying with Jay's brother, Don.

I am off to bed now.
