Wednesday work day

Morning sunrise

After our usual walk, shower, and breakfast it was a busy day but not too many pictures to show for it.

I worked on my final draft of my "daily" sheets for our trip. That took up most of the morning.  We took the trash to the trash location.
Sharon's document on the left and my daily on the right.

There were a lot of little odds and ends to work on with the house since Jay is not here.  He will return after we have left.  Jeanne had a lot of other details to take care of.

We had a great lunch of BLTs.

Picking the last crop of beans.  I think that she got 15 beans!!

We had to fit in our last Smirnoff time.  The weather has been perfect.

Dinner was left-over Thai, peas, and rest of the beans.

It was a busy day but not many pictures.

Jeanne was busy in the evening with some wooden puzzles.

Tuesday

The sunrise was pretty this morning on our walk.

Momma and baby

Pileated Woodpecker

Jeanne had a chance to check off more things on her list of things to do.  After lunch we went into town.  We got to Art and Soul.  It is one of my favorite stores.  One store we went to was one we had tried to go to yesterday but we could not because of a water main breakage that was being worked on.  We ran a few errands as well.

Then it was Smirnoff time, of course.

This persistent woodpecker, didn't seem to mind us.

I went on a short walk.

Another view of the bean patch.

More trails

We got ready to go to the GEL for an AAUW dinner meeting.  If we got there early there would be time to buy a glass of wine before dinner.

Argh.  No dinner.  But I guess they decided to just have the meeting anyway, just no supper or wine.  After the meeting we went to Insula for dinner instead.  "Closed due to a water line breakage".  One pipe and the town shuts down.

As we were driving home we went by the farmer's market.  There was a Thai food cart at the market so we stopped there for dinner. They were almost out of food because more people were stopping there for dinner.  It was very good. But now we have more left-overs.

We had another relaxing evening.

We have a long list of things we need to do tomorrow.  One thing got taken off tomorrow's list.  We were going to help with the AAUW roadside litter clean up.  But that got changed to Friday.

Monday, errands day and canoeing

My morning work station

Sun is coming up

Morning mist

We went on a different trail of Jay's.

We had a nice morning walk.

After our walk, breakfast, and shower we headed into Ely.  Jeanne had a bunch of errands to do to prepare for being away for a few weeks.

When Jeanne was finished with her list of errands, we did a little dinking.

My favorite store, Mealey's Gift shop.

Then it was time for lunch.  We went to the Frisky Otter. It is a new restaurant.

Jeanne and I are pretty good about finding a sandwich to split.  The patty melt was delicious.

After working on a little more paper work, we decided to take a break and go canoeing.  It was a perfect day for it.

Jeanne carried the canoe out!!!

I wanted to take my phone but I did not want to risk it getting wet so I tried Nathan's phone water protector. It was a trial run for my possible rafting trip in Cesky Krumlov. It seemed to work pretty well.

Once we were in the water we talked to some neighbors and got them to take our picture.

It was a beautiful day.

Once we were back it was Smirnoff/margarita time again.

We relaxed a bit before time to make dinner.

We had green beans from the garden and chicken squares.  Another yummy meal.

Each evening we have had a chance to relax, watch some TV, and work on various things like my blog.

Sunday in Ely

We had a nice morning stroll.  What a nice way to start the day.  It was a bit chilly.  Luckily, I brought layers.

My favorite little island.  The trees are growing on it.

Hidden gnome on the trail.

Some of the colors are starting.

After our walk, shower, breakfast, and coffee we got ready to go to church.

I saw a lot of familiar faces. That is always fun.

We went to lunch at the GEL (Grand Ely Lodge)

Jeanne and I split the spinach, artichoke, chicken sandwich.  It was messy but quite tasty.

We stopped by the Harvest Moon Festival on our way home.
A lot of local arts and crafts.  I saw some fun things but I have no room in my suit case for anything extra.

We do a lot of bird watching

Jeanne's green bean patch.  We harvested some more beans.

Jay has been creating more trails through their woods.

We went to the Kawishiwi Falls.  I always like going there.

We came home and it was a perfect time to sit on the deck with a Smirnoff.

What great weather we have been having.

We had tacos, orange slices and Margaritas for dinner.  Yummy.
