Instead of a morning walk we went down to the bay to watch the sunrise.
Hairy Woodpecker
Then we did something I have never done. Jeanne and Jay had a coupon for a discount on gas, but it was for a one time use. So Jeanne, Jay, and I each drove a vehicle. Jay held the gas pump. Jeanne and I rotated the vehicles until all 3 vehicles were filled up. So they save $3. Plus their gas was only $3.09 per gallon.
The blue Subaru on the left, I drove. The vehicle at the pump was the Elantra which Jeanne drove, and the right SUV in back Jay drove.
The event today was to drive to Two Harbors for a birthday party. It was a 2 hour drive.
We passed over the Baptism River several times. We saw a sign for the High Falls on the Baptism River. This was confusing since the High Falls we saw was on the Pigeon River. When I got to Jeanne and Jay's I looked it up. Yes, there are 2 High Falls. The one on the Baptism River is 60 feet high and the one on the Pigeon River is 120 feet. But the one on the Baptism River is listed as the tallest falls entirely within the Minnesota borders.
Julie (Jeanne & Jay's niece) and Trey's 2 kids: Ruby (6) & Levi (4). The party was noon to 4 pm. Ruby and Levi are Gordon (Jay's youngest brother) and Sue's grandkids. There were a lot of relatives there. Some of them I had met before.

Ruby's favorite gift was a camera! She was actually quite good with the camera. The other favorite was her bike.
Levi liked his rope ladder and his shovel.
About 4:30 pm we ended out leaving for our 2 hour drive home. We ate so much and it was a late lunch so we had no need for dinner.
Laura, Emmet, and Liam followed us home. They will be staying at Jeanne and Jay's for the weekend. They will be able to celebrate Jay's birthday tomorrow.
We stopped at DQ when we got to Ely. We found out that more people were coming to Jay's birthday party tomorrow. We decided to buy an ice cream cake to add to the cake Jeanne made.
