A Quiet Sunday

The official front of Jeanne & Jay's home, rarely used. 

Jeanne's bean garden.  Jay had added an extension to the landing.  The deer can't get at it so well.

I went to church with Jeanne and Jay.  They are both in the choir. Laura and family came later.  With the end of the summer, they had a larger choir than usual, so they sat at the back of the sanctuary.  They had not done that before.  The space they normally sit at was too small of a space.

The new pastor, Craig, doing the children's time. We came home after church and had lunch.

Game time again with Emmet, Jeanne, Tristan & Liam.

Jeanne and Jay had a memorial service to go to.  I went into town with them and wandered around.  I poked into some shops and walked in the park.

Some wealthy guy has bought up some property downtown to renovate but he wanted to make sure that someone with take responsibility for the property afterward (note the sign on the theater).

Jeanne and Jay picked me up in the park after their service was over.  I got a nice walk in.

We celebrated Jay's birthday with having his cake at tea time.  The dinner came later. His birthday isn't until Thursday, but today was the day that we could celebrate it.

Wilhelm and Jay spent most of the day putting up new blinds in the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms.  So "my" room now has new blinds.  They are very nice.  

For the birthday dinner Jeanne had ordered fried chicken from the local grocery store.  We picked it up after the memorial service.  Then we made mashed potatoes and gravy, and had corn on the cob & rolls.  After dinner was gift time. Jay was quite the entertainment for Emmet and Liam.

The box was an especially big hit. Liam looks a lot like Laura in this picture.

Then it was time to wind things down with bath and bed time.  Wilhelm and Jay finished the blind project and Jeanne and Laura and I could relax and chat.
