Monday September 20 - Good news

Very orange sky this morning.
The camera did not do justice to the lighting

After breakfast, Jeanne was on the phone doing all the things that couldn't be done on Sunday.  Jake was scheduled to come pick up the Subaru between 10 and 11 today.  We arranged to meet Margie at the church at 8 am on Wednesday so that she could drive us to Duluth to pick up the car.  The Subaru people are all on board with this plan.  Jeanne will pay Jake and then submit the bill for reimbursement.  We got all the stuff out of the Subaru. to prepare for the towing and repair. She also reported the damage to the mail box to the local Sheriff.

Jake called to let us know that he was on his way with the tow truck.  When he got there he started checking things out.  He said that sometimes with a fuel pump that after sitting a while it may start.  He was right.  He got it going, so, no tow truck needed and no charge!  We needed to drive it some so he followed us to the gas station to make sure that it would run ok.  We needed to gas anyway.  After that it seemed to work fine.

We checked out the mailbox on our way home.  The neighbor, Eddie, had done a pretty good job of straightening it all out.
Wow.  Impressive.  Great neighbors.

We had lunch.  Jeanne made more phone calls.  This time to cancel many of the previously made plans.  Then we headed out to dink and run some errands.

I always like coming in here.

Then it was time to head off to Bev & Dan's home for game day.  They usually play 2 - 5 pm every Monday. They alternate homes and who brings treats.

It started pouring while we were there.  It had been sprinkling on and off all day.

The welcome to Ely sign.

No moon pictures tonight.  We watched a movie.  "The Queen Bees" is a cute movie.
