Wednesday

We were up, packed and ready to go by 7:45 am.  We had said most of our good-byes last night. The goal was to get to the Chicago Ogilvie Metra stop so that I could get the 11:35 am train out to Crystal Lake where Trudy lives.  We were well on our way when I looked at the train schedule.  Trudy had said that the train left Ogilvie every hour.  What we saw that there was an 11:35 am train but that one did not go all the way out to Crystal Lake.  Argh!! Now what?  We were early enough that it would be almost a 2 hour wait until the 12:35 pm train.

George very nicely volunteered to drive me out to Trudy's. That sure made things easier for me, but it did add more driving time for him.  We got to Trudy's at 11:40 am.  George dropped me off and then headed to Robbie & Ice's place where Nathan was.

Trudy and I walked to Tony's Cafe for lunch.  It was very good.  We split a Reuben sandwich and sweet potato fries..  I had soup, Trudy had salad. We relaxed and chatted.  We had a lot to catch up on.  We worked a bit on her computer.  I am not sure that I was much help.

We took a break and walked around the lake in the backyard.

Spring is happening.  The violets are blooming.

We collected trash on our way around

Trudy

Trudy's place on the left.

We went to the church for dinner.  They do this every Wednesday night before a bible study group and before choir.  We had dinner and left while the bible study was going on.

We drove out to see the Food shed Co-op.  It is being built.  Trudy has been involved with the co-op.  It is a dream which is finally being realized.  It is supposed to open May 15, 2024.

Quite a dream. Produce, Grocery, Deli and Open for Everyone!!

We went back to Trudy's for a short time.  Long enough for me to get some sunset pictures.

Then back to the church for choir rehearsal.

It is interesting.  They do movements during their warm up.

They are working on Mozart's Requiem.  Pretty impressive. They have 40 people in the choir.

It was great to sit and listen to them rehearse.

Afterwards we came home to watch some news and to have a beer.
