Flight Home

We were up and out of our AirBnB by 6 am. We left Nathan there. He was staying for 2 more days, but he shifted to Sharon and Michael's place. We returned the car and got to our gate in plenty of time. The flight was supposed to leave a few minutes early, but that didn't happen. We left about 10 minutes late.

It was an uneventful flight home.  We arrived pretty much on time in Portland.  The Park N Fly shuttle was waiting for us.  It was nice to be dropped off right at our vehicle.

We pulled into our driveway a little before 11 am.  I had time to head out on a walk before lunch.  I was to meet Bob & Suzanne (friends from our Rick Steves Alpine tour group) at 1 pm to go to the Japanese Gardens.  As I was walking, I got a text from Suzanne asking if we could meet at 12 pm instead because they were predicting rain later.  I turned around and scurried home so that I could make a quick lunch.  They pulled up just at noon. I decided to include this on my trip home blog because the Japanese Gardens were so amazing.

Mount Hood is directly behind the tall building.  Just can't see it.

The colors were amazing.

What a day.  We are safely home.

Sunday in California

It was a misty, moisty morning, when cloudy was the weather.

We went to play pickleball.  Linda did not join us.  She had a fun night with some of her high school friends.  Again, no matter what combination we did Pam's team always won.

We headed over to Lacy Park to meet up with the rest of the gang.  That was a nice park.

I think that the adults had as much fun as the kids.

Pam and I walked over to the rose garden.

We ordered lunch from Muffin Can Stop Us.  We ordered a bunch of sandwiches.  Jamie and I went to pick them up.  We ate at Jamie and Pam's place because it was close to the Muffin place.  They got some of our orders wrong but we made the best of it.
We did not stay long at Jamie and Pam's.  It was nap time so we went back to our place first before heading to Sharon & Michael's.

Once nap time was over we walked to Trader Joe's to get some essentials for making a dessert.  Nathan decided on a pumpkin Bundt cake. Sharon and Linda were still trying to nap.

While the cake was baking they tried to play a game of bananagrams.

Getting the cake out of the pan.

Success. Sharon, Linda, Nathan

Putting on the icing.

What a cake!!

Once the kids were in bed we played a round of Oh Pshaw!

Then it was time to say goodby to everyone.   We head off early in the morning. Linda heads off early in the morning as well, but she flies out of LAX.  She will take an Uber.  We will be returning our rental car.  We fly out of Burbank.  Nathan will check out of the AirBnB and then go over to Sharon & Michael's for a few more days.
