5 star B&B

We have been here a week and so I feel that I can rate this B & B as definitely a 5 star establishment.
Above is a picture of the house from across the bay and below is a picture from the back fence.

The hospitality, comfort and food have been top notch.  Our hosts Mike and MJ have made us feel quite at home.  I would recommend it.

Wednesday - Art Walk

We have driven by these basketball hoops several times and were curious.  So we stopped.  I had thought that it was an art installation but it is a game.

This is the 6 year for the Sculpture Art Walk in Salisbury.  They have installed 96 sculptures, 52 artists from 9 different states. 5 have been purchased to become permanent installations.  We walked around to find a few of them.

After wandering around town we went to the grocery store to buy the fixings for dinner.  Sweet and Sour Meatballs.  Then we went home for lunch and to relax until Jay and Mike get home.

Wednesday - Dan Nichols Park

We had the vehicle today so we headed off to the Dan Nichols State Park.  Nice little park.

Tuesday evening

We all relaxed a bit before going out for dinner.  Mike suggested an Italian place, Pinocchio's.  What a great recommendation.  I had the Chicken Parmesan dinner which included salad and dessert.  They had some very unusual flavors of gelatos.

very generous portion of chicken.  I took some home.

Full moon.

Another very nice day though we ended it with another poor choice of a movie.
We missed MJ.

Tuesday

Jay and Mike just did some practice drives and putts today so they were home early.  MJ had to get back to work.

Their pier has lost a floater so the maintenance people came to get the end of the pier to repair it.  It was quite the process to get it unhooked to tow it off.

Once the dock was safely towed away we headed of to lunch at Hap's Grill.  Apparently it is an iconic place around here.  Chili dogs and chili burgers and Cheerwine (which is a cherry cola).  I ordered the cheeseburger "all the way" with the Cheerwine.  It was yummy

Then we headed off to Stony Mountain Vineyard/and Winery.  Apparently many of the farms that used to grow tobacco are now growing grapes.
It was a pretty vineyard but small.  They mostly make wines from grapes grown elsewhere.  They had a pinot noir using Oregon grapes but it was not a successful year.  That is the first bubbly pinot noir I have ever had.  After the tasting we sat on the deck and drank a glass of wine. Jeanne and I had the pinot grigio and Jay had the Syrah.  Then we headed home.

A very nice day.

one more sunrise

Our routine seems to be:  I get up in time to see the sunrise.  Then Jeanne and I sit and have our morning cup of coffee.  We go on a walk.  Marckie has joined us for that.  Then back for breakfast.  Jay and Mike hit some golf course and get home around 2 pm.  The rest of us have a leisurely morning and fit in some errands, lunch and relaxation.  MJ has been off work so she has been taking us places.  Once Jay and Mike have gotten home we do some activity like wine tasting or going out in their boat. Then dinner, TV/movie and bed.  Temperatures have been in the 80s and today it is 90% humidity.  We may spend most of the day indoors.  MJ has to work today and in fact this afternoon she has to fly to Florida for a big meeting.  We won't see her after that.  She gets home after we leave.

I hope you are not too bored with my sunrise sequence.

A lot of pretty flowers in bloom.

Monday evening

Jeanne and I sat in the front of the boat for this ride.

Getting close to sunset.  We went out for a short ride before dinner

Getting close to full moon.  Sorry about the water spots on my lens.

Dinner was delicious.  Pork loin medallions,  roasted carrots steamed red potatoes apple sauce and of course Marckie's salad.

Tiki lights by the pool.

Then we came in to watch a terrible movie on the huge screen TV.  Trust Me.  Don't both watching it.  But it was fun seeing it on the big screen almost like being at the movies except that the couch is a lot more comfortable.
