Dinner July 13

We  relaxed a bit before it was time for dinner.  We went to Mamma Melina's just a block away.  Interesting  decor with these paintings like an art gallery but they are on the ceiling

free bruschette for all - yumy

I had a delicious steak, polenta, caramelized onions and garnished with a few vegetables.

Rebecca arrived.  Patty met her at the train station which was very nice.

Very brilliant sunset

George had to eat fast because he had to rush off to the airport to meet Nathan.  We went up to Jim & Pam's room to visit after dinner.  Patty and Rebecca joined us.  Sharon & Michael hung around just long enough for Nathan to get there and then they left.

It is nice having both Rebecca and Nathan here but unfortunately it is the end of our vacation with the rest of my family.

Sunday, July13

We had a light breakfast at the hotel then walked to Starbucks for our morning coffee.  Debbie likes the Clover Press coffee (they do that also at the Beaverton Starbucks by the Beaverton Fred Meyer) .  Then some of us went for a bike ride and some of us took a walk.  I went on the walk.  There is a nice path close to the hotel.  After that it was time for our REAL breakfast.  Wow what a place.

Joe put some of this on his crepe

I had a fritatta with peas and arugula. It was delicious but if I ever go back I am getting the french toast.

fruit bar of things to put on pancakes, waffles or whatever.

The take reservations and encourage reservations but it was odd to see the sign on the restroom door.  After lunch we went down town to do a harbor cruise.  That was fun.

nice view of the space needle and the sculpture garden

It was a nice day to be out on the water.  I was glad I brought my sweater.  It was a little chilly.

back to the dock.  Then we drove back to the hotel.  Now we are all taking a little break before dinner.  I think that all we are doing is eating.

What DID we do today??

We walked across the street for breakfast at 7:30 am ... no - it does not open until 8 am.  Ok back again at 8 am ... What still not open??? call the number.  OH weekends it does not open until 9 am.  Oh well.  We decided to walk up the street to another restaurant recommended by the hotel.  About 1 mile away. Of course, up hill.  Varsity Cafe.  It was very good.

Fabulous California Benedict

Then to Starbucks for coffee.  Then Debbie and I went on an Indian clothing search.  We were not successful.

I was showing Debbie how I could do a collage with my camera!!

Then it was time for lunch at Veggie Grill.  This was a Power Salad with quinoa and kale.

portabella mushroom skewers.
Very good restaurant but ... you guessed it.  Vegetarian.
Sat around and visited all afternoon.  It was hot so we did not do much.  Then it was dinner time.

my steak

ice cream for some.  I did not have any.  I felt like we had been eating all day.

Michael was explaining to us about what you can tell about a person if they cross their arms right over left or left over right.

Steve relaxing a bit after dinner.

We all gathered in the dining area of the hotel for a little after dinner wine. Hmmmm choices choices.

July 10 continued

Pam and I went on a walk to a close park.

We saw some gorgeous flowers

Pam is trying her new camera

after we got home we turned around and went on another walk.  We walked to the Indian restaurant for dinner.  It was very hot.  The restaurant was not air conditioned.  I think I drank a whole pitcher of water.

very good food.  Sorry no pictures of the rest of our meal.  I think we inhaled it.  You would think that we were not getting enough to eat.

Lunch at Fork And Spoon.  I had a very refreshing drink called a Radler: Hefivweizen and limonata.  I had a tuna melt that was very good.

Then we went for ice cream

Wow!! fabulous.  I had the lave melt and vanilla ice cream.  I could not eat it all.

\Then we walked back to the ferry

It looks like the cranes are holding up the mountain.
Home again.  Whew - what a fun day.  We had to go back to the hotel to recover before going to dinner.
