The Ferry - Tuesday part 3

Our ferry

Once we put our stuff in the room, Nathan gave us a tour of the ferry.

Our room

Not a great view from our porthole.

These are our portholes from the deck.

We watched as we left the Auke Bay Ferry terminal.
Good-bye Juneau.

The lounge

Kiddie room

Dining room, cafeteria.

Apparently Douglas Island is a very big island. That is where Erik lives. Juneau is actually on the mainland.

After we left the port we went to the lounge and Nathan and I ordered a glass of wine.  Then we played 10, 9, 8.  They close the bar an hour before the dinner time.  So we left to find someplace else to sit.  It is very pretty scenery.

There were a lot of whale spouts.  It was exciting.  But the whales mostly kept their distance.

Dinner starts at 6 pm.  We found that it was best to be one of the first in line when the doors opened.  George waited and it took him a lot longer to get his meal.  We were done before he even got his.

I had smothered chicken.

After dinner we had fun watching the sunset.

Then it was back to the lounge for drinks and cards.

Once back in the room, we had the challenge of trying to figure out how to get the beds set up and made.  We will just leave them set up since we don't spend much time in the room.  George took the upper bunk.

As we were getting closer to Ketchikan I finally had better Internet service so I could work on my blog.
