Waterfall, mine museum, the Hanger

No cruise ships came in this morning.

Morning lights around the whale sculpture

One of Timi's paintings in the local calendar.

Fiona is happy.

After breakfast and after Fiona let Nathan get up, we went to hike the Mt Bradley trail.

Nathan warned me that there may be some steep spots.

Not so bad

Getting worse

Hmmm. Where is the trail?

Another "aqueduct" for water.

Water lily

It started raining when we were in the meadow.

Going through a field of Skunk Cabbage

Quicksand pits

Some well constructed steps.  I could have used them earlier.

Creeping Dogwood.  I guess it is related to the dogwood trees.

Paris Creek

Always the kidder. A lot of the Treadwell Ditch trail is grown over but some parts have collapsed.  The ditch was dug to bring more water to the mine.  Like an aqueduct.

Cornflower

We went back to E & T's for left-overs for lunch.  We finished off most things.  We relaxed for a while.  The Mine museum opened at 2 pm so we had to wait.  Nathan let Fiona outside for short periods.

Where is Fiona??

Around 3 pm we headed off to the mine museum.

The museum.

We saw a tour group panning for gold.  I wonder if anyone found any.

Oxygen mask

There was a volunteer there who talked about the mines.  She was very interesting.  It was nice because she was informative and engaging.

What is this??

It was raining pretty steadily but we decided to go on the Flume Trail walk anyway.  It was on a flat boardwalk.

It was a nice trail.  Too bad about the rain.

I felt like a drowned rat.

By the time we got back to the car it had stopped raining.  Naturally!!

We stopped at a health food store, the Rainbow Foods.  We picked up a few snacks foods to have on hand for the ferry.

We had a 6 pm dinner reservation at the Hanger on the Wharf.

This is why the restaurant is called the Hanger.

I watched a seaplane come in.

I ordered the halibut melt. I was a little disappointed.  I guess tuna is a little more flavorful.  But it was ok.

We headed home and got out of our wet clothes.  Nathan started a load of laundry.

Fiona enjoys George's attention.

The restaurant is visible from E & T's place.

I enjoyed watching the planes.

Fiona is helping Nathan with his computer game.

I think that because it was so overcast the street lights across the way seemed brighter.
