We have to check out by 10 am so we made a 10:30 am brunch reservation at Fathoms restaurant at the Inn at Spanish Head.

 

Joyce finished the top of her quilt.

My hand still hurts and is swollen.

The sibling of the beast that got me.

Our house looks like a Subaru advertisment.

I don't think that the neighbors did a very good job of parking.

We were all checked out by 10:10 am.  Not bad.  It is always hard to leave. But it was a treat to go to the Inn at Spanish Head for brunch.

Joyce and I had one quick stop at the outlet mall to return something and then we were on our way home.  The traffic wasn't bad.  

Joyce dropped me off at home at 2 pm.  Judy was going to stay at the beach for a while and Kris and Sharon did a little more at the outlet mall.  They got home around 3 pm.

I had a quick turn around time because George and I were heading up to Seattle.  We left to go to the train station.  We were there by 3 pm.  At 3:55 pm we headed north. My brother, Steve, had been invited to do several talks and book signings at the Seattle Worldcon of 2025. We are staying at the Residence Inn Downtown Seattle. Jennifer joined him. Debbie and Joe drove down.  Nathan had already gone to Seattle yesterday to see Madeline, Roman, and Ivan.

It was a nice train ride with only a few stops.

My terribly exciting dinner, vegan BBQ burger.  It was ok.  George got the Mac and cheese.

We arrived in Seattle around 7:30 pm.  Debbie, Joe, Steve and Jennifer all had dinner at the Carlile Room near the hotel. We got to the Residence Inn near the Convention Center and checked in.  We are in room 910.  When we walked into our room the hide-a-bed was all open and the cushions were everywhere.  I called down to the front desk to ask about it.  I had just hung up when a housekeeping person knocked at the door saying he wasn't finished with the bed.  He put it all back together.  Quick service.  Soon there was another knock on the door from management.  They wanted to move us to another room. Because of the "broken bed" .  We told them that everything was ok and we did not need to move.  They were afraid that our keys would no longer work so they gave us new keys.  Whew!! It said that all the rooms were suites but I guess their idea of a suite is different than mine.  We do have a living room and a dining room but they are not separate from the bedroom.  We have a full kitchen.  We could not figure out the kitchen lights.  You have to turn the master switch off for the kitchen lights to come on. Weird.  Debbie said that their room is smaller than ours.  It is a king studio suite.

We met up with Steve, Jennifer, Debbie and Joe and sat in the lounge area to have a drink and to chat.  Steve and Jennifer are both struggling with multiple health issues.  It is hard to watch them struggle so much.  Debbie and Joe are doing well.
